In this two-day intensive, students will learn how Procreate can be used for sketching, refinement, and delivering a final piece — all on the iPad. This course will cover helpful sketching techniques, core principles of lettering and spacing, and killer tips to make the most of these new tools. Working efficiently in a digital environment can be tricky to get the hang of, but James Edmondson and Tad Wagner are here to jumpstart your skills to make the experience effective and fun.

About James Edmondson
James Edmondson

James is an type designer based in Oakland, California. He studied graphic design at California College of the Arts, and graduated from the Royal Academy of Art TypeMedia program in the Netherlands.

Through his foundry OH no Type Co., he creates custom and retail typefaces. In 2018, James co-founded Future Fonts, a platform for distributing fonts in-progress. James leads the type design classes in the Type West Certificate Program and occasional workshops through Type@Cooper.

Tad Wagner is a San Francisco-based illustrator and type designer. He is a graduate of Type@Cooper West and currently serves as a Teaching Assistant for Type West at Letterform Archive.
