Letterform Archive will participate in the London Design Festival this September with a pop-up exhibit, Graphic Design Process: Analog Artifacts of Experimentation, Development, & Production, along with other talks about the lettering arts and design archives.

The exhibition highlights the work designers produce on the way to final products, including work by W.A. Dwiggins, Emigre Inc, Eric Gill, Philip Grushkin, Edward Johnston, Aaron Marcus, Herbert Matter, Piet Zwart, and others. Join Founder and Curator Rob Saunders and Librarian Amelia Grounds for a walkthrough where you'll learn about analog production and get an up close look at these unique artifacts. About Rob Saunders
Rob Saunders

Rob Saunders, Letterform Archive’s Curator and Publisher, is a designer, teacher, publisher, and management consultant, who has collected graphic design and letterforms for over 40 years. Rob began his career teaching at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and Tufts University, while serving freelance clients and agencies, before founding a book publishing enterprise that included Alphabet Press (graphic design), Picture Book Studio (children’s books), and Rabbit Ears Books (book/audio packages), which was eventually acquired by Simon & Schuster. Prior to founding Letterform Archive he served as a creative and marketing consultant with clients in the hospitality, technology, and financial industries.

About Amelia Grounds
Amelia Grounds

Amelia Grounds is the Acquisitions and Curatorial Support Coordinator at the Bancroft Library, UC Berkeley and was the first Librarian of Letterform Archive in San Francisco. She has worked at numerous libraries and special collection in the Bay Area and the UK and is especially interested in the materiality and history of book making from early manuscripts through to contemporary artists’ books and concrete poetry.
