Archive Salon Series 05: Artists’ Books: Makers and Materials

Archive Salon Series 05: Artists’ Books: Makers and Materials
with Amelia Grounds

Lecture at Letterform Archive
Thu, May 31, 2018
6:30pm–7:30pm PDT

Join us for our Salon Series, where Letterform Archive staff invites you to experience materials related to a specific topic of interest to the collection.

This month we explore artists’ books, for which the form of the object itself is as important as its content. Our Librarian Amelia Grounds will present highlights of the Archive’s artists’ book collection: books made by hand, books with conceptual structures, and books that make use of unusual materials. Visit Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, and Venice with Redfoxpress, rethink the alphabet via Russell Maret, and more.

Doors at 6:00pm. Presentation begins promptly at 6:30pm.
