Join us for our Salon Series, where Letterform Archive staff invite you to experience materials related to a specific topic of interest to the Collection.

Book covers are a bellwether of graphic design. Over the last 100 years they evolved from relatively straightforward protection and communication to the key marketing factor in an extremely competitive environment. Curator Rob Saunders will explore the Archive’s holdings of book covers and jackets from the avant gardes to the present, featuring the work of W. A. Dwiggins, George Salter, Phil Grushkin, Alvin Lustig, Elaine Lustig Cohen, Paul Rand, and Chip Kidd.

Doors at 6:00pm. Presentation begins promptly at 6:30pm.
