Our New Book Is Now on Kickstarter

We are pleased to announce the launch of Letterform Archive Book No. 3, Only on Saturday: The Wood Type Prints of Jack Stauffacher.

A San Francisco typographer and printer celebrated for his letterpress books, Jack Stauffacher (1920–2017) secretly experimented with a box of antique, mismatched wood type on the weekends. The resulting prints are a testament to type’s expressive powers — and beautifully bridge the worlds of graphic design and modern art.

Written by Chuck Byrne with contributions from Jack’s collaborators and collectors, and featuring our meticulous reproductions of Jack’s prints, the book will be the definitive story of his development as a printer and modern artist.

Help us share the never-before-told story behind Stauffacher’s dynamic prints by supporting our Kickstarter campaign. Letterform Archive members get a 20 percent discount during the first two days of the campaign! Just pick an LFA Member rewards tier on the Kickstarter page.
