This weekend, the San Francisco Art Book Fair takes place at Minnesota Street Project, just a few minutes from Letterform Archive. It’s a three-day festival of artists’ books, periodicals, zines, and printed ephemera on display.
Along with the exhibitors, there will a program of talks, screenings, workshops, and other activities. On Saturday, our Curator Rob Saunders will bring some Avant Garde goodies from the Archive collection for show-and-tell, demonstrating their transformative influence on twentieth-century graphic design. The early twentieth century will be represented by Constructivism, Dada, and Futurism, and the late by concrete poetry and the various countercultures.
