In-Person Core: Brush Written Romans
- Date
- Time
During this hands-on Type West workshop, students will gain an understanding of the Imperial Roman Alphabet, utilizing an inside-out approach to these timeless letterforms. While learning the special characteristics and “personality” of the brush contrasted with hard-tool calligraphy, they’ll practice the essential elements of the classical Roman letterform. Before the workshop is completed, students will be able to write the entire alphabet in the same manner as an ancient Roman inscription maker would prior to cutting letters into stone. A short inscription cutting demonstration will be provided as an addition to the class.
