Lettering for Logos and Titles
with Melinda Beck
Create beautiful custom-lettered logos, hand-lettered titles, and headlines to transform your design and illustration work.

Melinda will share her 30 years of experience in creating award-winning hand lettering for clients such as Random House, Rolling Stone magazine, The New York Times, The U.S. Postal Service, and Chronicle Books. She will conduct a live demonstration of her process, while attendees will create their own custom lettering. The class will start drawing letterforms with a mechanical pencil and paper, and finish by designing the final vector art. During this process, Melinda will review the anatomy of letters, explain how to create a cohesive-looking font, and provide tips for translating your work into vector art.

Melinda Beck
Melinda Beck is an illustrator, animator, and graphic designer with 30 years of experience who has received numerous awards, including two Emmy nominations and medals from the Society of Illustrators. Her projects include a series of stamps for the U.S. Postal Service commemorating the 50th anniversary of TITLE IX and multiple murals for the New York Public Library. Her work is in the permanent collection of The Library of Congress
