About Nils Lindstrom

Nils grew up in the ’50s and ’60s on a farm in Eastern Idaho. It was there he forged his work ethic and desire to trade hoes and shovels for pencils and pens. In high school he felt the tug of art and design pulling him into its orbit. At Ricks College (now BYU Idaho) he slipped into the gravitation field of graphic design and made a hard landing at the ArtCenter College of Design in 1978 where his love affair with lettering bloomed. In 1987 he became a lettering instructor at ACCD.

Nils became a close friend with the late great Doyald Young and was mentored by him for 25 years.

He and his wife, Loraine Parson Lindstrom have five children and thirteen grandchildren.
