Welcome Paola, Stephen, and Elise
This month the Letterform Archive team grew by three, increasing our capacity to support visits, catalog the collection, and ramp up publishing efforts, in print and online.
Paola Zanol joined the staff after volunteering for over a year. Her accomplished background in art, design, and digital media will be put to good use as our Executive Assistant. If that wasn’t enough, this multi-talented Brazilian can also dance flamenco (a professional performer for years) and play percussion (currently in a Maracatu group).
Stephen Coles has been involved with the Archive since its inception. Now he moves from a seat on the Board of Directors to a full-time position on the team. As Associate Curator and Editorial Director, Stephen is responsible for the online face and voice of the Archive, and helps to shape the future of the collection. He will continue to publish Typographica and Fonts In Use, sites that share the Archive’s mission of documenting graphic design, and under our new partnership will feature content from our collection.
Elise Carlton was also a long-time volunteer and frequent Archive collaborator before stepping in as our new Office Manager. Her passion for the collection is enhanced by a successful run as a branding and packaging designer. Besides helping our operations and visits run smoothly, Elise keeps us amused with her soothing radio voice and witty puns.
