In his book Design as Art, Italian artist, designer, and children’s book author Bruno Munari describes children as moving through their world “always curious, wanting to know everything.” Munari says that “Children are extraordinarily observant, and often notice things that grown-ups do not.”
The most effective designs are consistently the product of being curious or noticing. To create a memorable logo, successful ad, or moving artist’s book, creatives must also make really big ideas easily digestible—and usually playful. It’s no wonder many of them are accomplished children’s book authors too.
See how curiosity, noticing, and sometimes just having fun result in great design and even better kids’ books. Join us to explore works from mid century design legends like Leo Lioni and Paul Rand to contemporary artists such as Jessica Hische and Sam Winston.
