The selection of a brand typeface has become an integral part of any identity redesign. Many companies are now commissioning custom typefaces in order to ensure that their primary brand fonts are “ownable”, both in the sense of being visually distinct as well as proprietary to the company. In this talk, MCKL founder Jeremy Mickel will discuss the current field of custom type design and share recent commissions of his own.
This event is part of the Letterform Lecture series, co-presented by Type@Cooper West and the San Francisco Public Library, and sponsored by Adobe Typekit.
