Drawing from the Archive’s deep collection of twentieth-century books, Sally will take us through the rise and (maybe) fall of the book jacket. We'll explore some of the earliest examples of jackets, their function, and how they became design objects.
Sally Beale(she/her) loves the book as an object and has been known to cradle a paperback like a baby. She earned her BA in Art History from Florida State University and her MA in Arts Administration from the University of New Orleans. Sally is Letterform Archive's Membership and Corporate Giving Manager but loves using her Art History background to research new topics in our collections.
