Aldo Novarese: Eurostile specimen, 1962

$75.00

MSRP:

6-fold leaflet. Good condition with stamp on cover for The Composing Room.

“Among the best-known typefaces of the past century, Eurostile (1962) is Novarese’s update and extension of Microgramma (1952), a caps-only quadrate sans serif for small titling designed by Alessandro Butti, possibly in collaboration with Novarese. Marketed as the formal expression of its times, Eurostyle’s squared O construction mirrors the architectural and industrial design trends of the day. This early specimen shows the first two styles of the face both of them developed on the basis of Microgramma’s extended (largo) style.” — Type by Aldo Novarese
